Entry conditions

The exhibition is open to anyone; however, an entry may be rejected when the sponsoring organization or its agent, in its reasonable discretion, believes the entry does not confirm to exhibition rules and conditions.
Entries must originate as photographs (image-captures of objects via light sensitivity) made by the entrant on photographic emulsion or acquired digitally. By virtue of submitting an entry, the entrant certifies the work as his/her own and permits the sponsors to reproduce all or part of the entered material free of charge for publication and/or display in media related to the exhibition. This may include low resolution posting on a website. The exhibition assumes no liability for any misuse of copyright. Images may be altered subject to divisional restrictions, either electronically or otherwise, by the maker and artwork or computer graphics created by the entrant may be incorporated if the photographic content predominates. Notice the FIAP and PSA definitions below.

All entries must be submitted in digital format. Each entrant may submit a maximum of four entries in each section. Pictures taken on film or slide must be scanned into digital form. The images will be sent in jpeg format only. An entrant’s four images will be distributed throughout four rounds of judging in each section in each stop in the circuit.
The required maximum horizontal 1920 px and vertical dimension is 1080  px with a resolution of 300 dpi. The maximum size of the image file is 2 Mb.
The entrant certifies that he is the sole owner of all the rights and elements on the image he presents.
The number of entries must be uploaded via the website http://www.finlandcircuit.fi/ during the period 15th August – 26th September 2016. The fee is paid by PayPal at the same time.
Unpaid entries will not be judged.

Notifications will be sent by e-mail. Each entrant will receive a high quality printed Circuit catalogue with hundreds of accepted images. The decision of the judges is final. The submission of entries signifies the acceptance of the entry conditions.
Images will be judged using  a good quality screen monitor, so the true colours are well portrayed.  (At least display 24″, 1920 x 1080 FullHD, IPS)  No information about the entrant, her/his country or image must  be visible in the picture. The same image (monochrome or Color version) can not be enter different sections of exhibitions.

FIAP Document 2014/317 art.II.7.F “With the sole act of submitting his/her images or files to a salon under FIAP Patronage, the entrant accepts without exception and with no objection that the submitted images can be investigated by FIAP to establish if these obey to FIAP regulations and definitions even if the entrant is not a member of FIAP;  that FIAP will use any means at its disposal for this undertaking; that any refusal to cooperate with FIAP or any refusal to submit the original files as captured by the camera, or failure to provide sufficient evidence, will be sanctioned by FIAP and that in case of sanctions following the non compliance with FIAP regulations, the name of the entrant will be released in any form useful to inform the breaches of the rules. It is recommended to leave the EXIF data in the submitted files intact in order to ease eventual investigations.”

Image names:
The PhotoPortal uploading system takes care of naming the files automatically. Naturally, you are also asked to write the names you have given to the individual photos. Just follow the instructions.

FIAP Monochrome definition

A black and white work fitting from the very dark grey (black) to the very clear grey (white) is a monochrome work with the various shades of grey. A black & white work toned entirely in a single colour will remain a monochrome work able to stand in the black& white category; such a work may be reproduced in black & white in the catalogue. On the other hand a black and white work modified by partial toning or by the addition of one colour becomes a colour work (polychrome) to stand in the colour category.

PSA Monochrome definition
A monochrome image is defined as having varying shades of no more than

one color (various shades of that color from very light to very dark) but it may

be any single color. Images that appear to be tones of a single color will be

considered a monochrome. Multi-toned images (various shades of two or

more colors) and greyscale images with an added accent color are not

acceptable in Monochrome Class sections and must be entered in Color Class sections.

The exhibition not accept  the color and monochrome versions of same image.
Photo Travel Division – PTD

Definition: A Photo Travel image expresses the characteristic features or culture of a land as they are found naturally. There are no geographic limitations. Images from events or activities arranged specifically for photography, or of subjects directed or hired for photography are not appropriate. Close up pictures of people or objects must include features that provide information about the environment. Techniques that add, relocate, replace or remove any element of the original image, except by cropping, are not permitted. The only allowable adjustments are removal of dust or digital noise, restoration of the appearance of the original scene, and complete conversion to greyscale monochrome. Other derivations, including infrared, are not permitted. All allowed adjustments must appear natural.
